Data protection
Qualitative research can contain sensitive participant information. xelper is designed to keep customer and participant content within EU-hosted production services and to limit project access by role.
EU data residency
Production resources that store or process recordings, transcripts, analyses, participant data, and operational data are hosted in Microsoft Azure regions within EU member states. xelper does not use non-EU regions for customer or participant content.
Access control
Access is scoped through organization membership and the project roles Admin, Member, and Client. Client has read-only access to project data and configuration, with narrowly defined analysis actions where the project supports them.
Responsible research practice
Technology controls are only one part of responsible data handling. Before collecting or uploading material:
- Establish an appropriate legal basis and consent process.
- Collect only the participant data the study needs.
- Avoid putting unnecessary personal information into guides, filenames, or metadata.
- Give project access only to people who need it.
- Agree on retention and deletion requirements with the project owner.
